Ford Motor Co. CEO Jim Farley says he’s been working to improve quality at the company since assuming the role in October 2020, as recalls and other vehicle problems can often impact consumer confidence and brand reputation.
But in his four years as Ford’s CEO, recalls still plague the automaker, totaling 62 in 2024, which potentially includes over 4.37 million vehicles, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It’s the second highest number of recalls among the Detroit Three, following FCA US with 67.
Automotive Dive has covered many of these recalls throughout the year and has compiled a list of some of the major ones in 2024, some of which are still being addressed by Ford due to their size and complexity.
