Dive Insight:
As the industry pivots to software-defined vehicles and seeks recurring revenue, Stellantis and other automakers are adding subscription services to their commercial offerings for fleet and business customers.
Stellantis aims to double its commercial vehicle net revenues by 2030 compared with 2021, including an additional 5 billion euros in recurring revenue from its connected vehicle services. Its existing commercial unit Pro One, which launched last October, accounted for a third of the automaker’s 189.5 billion euros ($239.7 billion) in net revenue in 2023.
Last month, Stellantis announced updates, including new executive appointments, to its corporate sales structure in North America to increase focus on business-to-business and business-to-consumer sales.
Among the services offered through Ram Professional is a dedicated “BusinessLink” dealer network for vehicle maintenance and repair services. BusinessLink customers receive expedited service, complimentary shuttles, loaner vehicles and other perks, while commercial customers can also purchase vehicle maintenance packages and service contracts that cover basic fleet maintenance, including oil changes. In addition, road hazard and multi-care coverage will be available for purchase.
The commercial services offered by Ram Professional could help business customers lower their total cost of ownership across the entire lineup of Ram trucks and vans, including the new Ram ProMaster EV, Ram 1500 REV, Ram 1500 Ramcharger, Ram Heavy Duty and Ram Chassis Cab vehicles, according to a Stellantis press release.
In addition, Stellantis will also connect Ram Professional customers with upfitters certified by the National Truck Equipment Association to outfit and customize commercial vehicles based on individual needs.
Ram Professional will also offer lines of credit up to $12 million through Stellantis Financial Services.
