Automotive replacement tire distributor TBC Corp. appointed Chris Stearman as its chief supply chain officer, according to a press release last month.
In the newly created role, Stearman will manage TBC’s end-to-end global supply chain operations. This includes supply chain strategy, manufacturing, distribution, innovation, logistics, purchasing and procurement.
As the company looks to strengthen its supply chain solutions,“TBC will leverage new technology and data review processes to achieve greater visibility across each step in a product’s journey — from demand forecasting to end customer delivery,” a TBC Corp. spokesperson told Supply Chain Dive in an email. “This increased visibility will enable us to respond and address issues more quickly, limiting or eliminating completely, the impact on customers.”
TBC will also offer Supply Chain as a Service solutions to expand its ability to manage all or parts of its customers’ end-to-end supply chains, according to the spokesperson.
“This includes providing services such as warehousing, delivery or inventory management, which will help to contribute to business growth and greater value and service for our customers,” the spokesperson said.
Prior to his new role, Stearman most recently served as VP of supply chain operations leader for Tyson Foods, according to the press release. He has also held senior roles at Revlon, Beam Suntory and Avon.
TBC Corp. is one of many companies creating executive roles to more effectively manage their complex supply chains. Perdue Foods also created a chief supply chain and operations officer role in late 2023, alongside footwear manufacturer Wolverine Worldwide, which established its first chief supply chain officer role.
