Fermata Energy, a vehicle-to-everything bidirectional charging startup, appointed Tony Posawatz CEO on July 7.
Posawatz has served on the company’s board for over a decade. The former Fisker Automotive CEO led the development of the Chevrolet Volt before joining the now-defunct electric vehicle startup in 2012. Former CEO David Slutzky will remain chair of Fermata Energy’s board and advise the firm on climate tech, mobility and energy.
“I invited Tony to join our advisory board more than a decade ago because of his deep expertise in automotive operations and EV commercialization,” Slutzky said in a statement. “Tony knows Fermata Energy and is the right person to lead the company through the next phase of growth and positive impact.”
Fermata Energy works with automakers Ford and Nissan, rideshare company Revel and other organizations. The company uses artificial intelligence, including machine learning, to help fleets and utilities manage EVs as distributed energy resources.
It’s “currently integrating its software with multiple [vehicle-to-grid capable] chargers to support installations for school districts and fleets with medium and heavy-duty EVs,” Fermata Energy said in a statement.
